Campbell Gets $2M to Clean Up Brownfield Site

For almost 80 years, the land was home to Ohio's largest steel mill.

But more recently, it's appeared desolate and overgrown. Campbell Mayor Bill VanSuch said 35 years after "Black Monday," hopefully this might spark and entice other businesses to come in also."

Recently, the state agreed to give the city of Campbell nearly $2 million to remove hazards from a 40-acre site near the border with Youngstown. The work will remove oil sitting on top of the underground water table, as well as cleaning up pockets of contaminated soil.
