Remedy proposed for Greenport Crossing brownfield site Mid-Hudson News (NY) November 12, 2012GREENPORT – Interested parties have until December 24 to comment to the State Department of Environmental Conservation on a proposed cleanup plan for the 10 acre brownfield site at 181 Union Turnpike in the Town of Greenport. Previous testing of the property revealed soil contamination from petroleum, chlorinated solvents, semi organic volatile compounds and metals that have impacted the soil and may be impacting groundwater. The previous owners/operators conducted metal work in manufacturing metal stamping presses. ...
