Cleanup to begin at Town of Ulster brownfield site

TOWN OF ULSTER - Cleanup of the 10 acre former Miron Pre-Cast  
facility site at 1561 Ulster Avenue in the Town of Ulster will begin  
shortly under the state's Brownfield Cleanup Program.

The primary contaminants of concern on the site include metals and  
semi-volatile organic compounds associated with petroleum releases in  
soil. Volatile organic compounds and semi-volatile organic compounds  
are of concern in groundwater.

The property has several abandoned structures, overgrown vegetation,  
gravel access roads, scattered debris, and concrete structures  
including catch basins, dry wells and septic tanks. A concrete pad  
also remains on the property, which has remained vacant and unused  
since the 1990s.
