[CPEO-BIF] Brownfield remediation/ corporate self-regulation

Dear colleagues,

I've been involved with the (ever unfolding) plans for remediating a brownfield site (former coal manufacturing plant) during the last few years, and I'm impressed by the intimacy of the relationship between the state regulatory agency and the corporate property owner.  I'm interested in exploring how the particular relationships I have been observing compare with those of other states.  Can anyone recommend literature on this question?  I'd greatly appreciate any suggestions for recent work on brownfield remediation, regulatory agencies, and corporations.

I'm happy to forward a list of suggestions along to others, based on recommendations.
