DENR to conduct survey of residents near hazardous Buncombe County sites

Responding to an inquiry from Buncombe County School Board member Lisa Baldwin, the North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources Public Information Officer, Cathy Akroyd, reports that the agency is going to conduct a survey to determine exactly which residents have water wells within a half a mile radius of the Champion Finishing and Square D sites. Here's the email Akroyd sent to Baldwin:

"In order to facilitate a prompt response to concerns about area groundwater quality, DENR is planning to conduct a receptor survey for water wells at all properties within a 1/2 mile radius of the Champion Finishing and Square D sites."
