Deere-Hitachi wants OK to redevelop brownfield Richard Craver Winston-Salem Journal (NC) June 13, 2013Deere-Hitachi Construction Machinery Corp. has filed a request with the N.C. Department of Environment and Natural Resources to redevelop a brownfields property at 1140 W. Mountain St. in Kernersville. ...The company said it plans to use the land as part of an expansion of its nearby manufacturing plant. It said in October it would create at least 340 full-time jobs and make a $97 million capital investment that will bolster its Kernersville operations by 60 percent.
