ODOT says chemical plume location, concentrations stable by Bethany Bruner Newark Advocate (OH) June 28, 2013NEWARK - New test results show there has been no significant movement or change from a plume of chemicals near the site of a former Ohio Department of Transportation Plant, Deputy Director Joe Rutherford said Friday. The trichlorethylene (TCE) plume has been a problem for ODOT for several years, and quarterly indoor air and sub-slab testing of buildings began in September. The most recent round of testing, conducted in April, show no significant change in the concentrations of the TCE from testing conducted in January. The testing also shows the plume has stabilized in terms of its location, Rutherford said. "With the most recent round of testing and where the concentrations are, we now concur that the plume is stable," Rutherford said. ...
