State regulator questions timeframe for Myrtle Beach pollution cleanup By David Wren Myrtle Beach Sun-News (SC) July 30, 2013 CONWAY - The state regulator in charge of overseeing pollution cleanup in the neighborhood adjacent to electronics manufacturer AVX Corp.’s facility in Myrtle Beach said during a court hearing on Tuesday that the company’s timeframe for removing contaminated groundwater is “optimistic” in light of recent testing that shows some of the highest levels of pollution to date. Carol Minsk – a hydro geologist with the S.C.
