Schenectady city planning board gets a glimpse of ambitious Mohawk  
River project

An empty industrial brownfield site sandwiched between Schenectady,  
NY's Erie Boulevard and the Mohawk River may be transformed into  
"Mohawk Harbor," a modern residential and retail complex complete  
with a scenic harbor.

That is the plan the property's owners, the Galesi Group, has for the  
land.

Dave Buicko, chief operating officer of the Galesi Group, made his  
presentation Wednesday evening to the Schenectady Planning Board.

Early in the 20th Century the land was the site of American  
Locomotive's factories, which manufactured trains.
