State pollution cleanup aid sought at old Rensselaer dry cleaners
Owner of contaminated Roxy site asks state aid; liquor store planned

Rensselaer - The owner of a polluted former dry cleaners is applying to clean up the site under a state program that subsidizes development on former brownfields.

New York City-based developer Tim Bayly is applying under the state Brownfield Cleanup Program to clean up chemicals left behind at the former Roxy Cleaners, at 800 Broadway, and remake the building into a liquor store, according to paperwork filed with the state Department of Environmental Conservation.
