Cleanup efforts at Old School benefit from EPA grant program by Andrew Schunk Twinsburg Bulletin (OH) June 5, 2014 Twinsburg -- A federal grant program that benefitted the city two years ago with cleanup and environmental site assessments at the Old School has announced that it has issued another $600,000 for Northeast Ohio cleanup efforts. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency awarded the grant to the Northeast Ohio Four County Regional Planning and Development Organization May 28 for its brownfield program, which funds the assessment and cleanup of suspected contaminated lands of former industrial and commercial properties so they can be redeveloped. … According to Twinsburg Planning and Development Director Larry Finch, the city received an initial $47,600 in 2012 from NEFCO to analyze and remove a 12,000-gallon underground storage tank, which contained fuel oil for the furnace in the Old School.
