JACKSON, MI – Enterprise Group officials will know in December just how interested developers are in renovating the old Acme Industrial complex in Jackson.

The property was to be the home of Armory Arts Village, but the artist community moved down the street to the former National Guard Armory and state prison in 2010 after soil contamination was found.

Due to trace amounts of arsenic, lead, chloroform and methylene chloride in the soil and groundwater on the site, among other substances, residential development is not allowed by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality.
