New monitoring wells sunk in I-park after chemicals found in groundwater By Kym Soper Machester Journal Inquirer (CT) December 17, 2014MANCHESTER - Two monitoring wells have been dug in a local industrial park after traces of a chemical degreaser were found in the groundwater that leads to one of the town's aquifers. Public Works Director Mark Carlino said the wells were dug by a private company, Arcadis U.S. Inc., for the former owner of Cametoid Technologies. Three barrels of dirt were removed to dig the wells, and as standard practice, the soil will also be tested, Carlino said. The wells were dug to test and monitor the groundwater and ensure the underground reservoir off Parker Street remains clean, he added. ...
