Marzullo wants town property cleanup plan by Ken Borsuk Greenwich Time (CT) February 13, 2015 Tired of seeing capital projects hamstrung by soil contamination, Selectman Drew Marzullo is calling for a comprehensive remediation plan for town properties. He called for the plan after hearing that the cost for a proposed municipal pool project for Byram Park jumped from $7.5 million to $11.4 million in the past year, $1.2 million of which was needed to clean up soil containing arsenic found near the site. A supporter of the pool project, he said he worried the rising costs could kill the project, which is being considered by the Board of Estimate and Taxation. He said he did not want the site clean-up costs lumped in with the construction costs or be used as an excuse to vote against it. ...
