EPA gets $22 million for cleanup of South Plainfield Superfund site; environmentalists wanted more by Sue Epstein NJ Advance Media March 19, 2015 NEW BRUNSWICK - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced today that it has received $22 million from the main polluter of a South Plainfield Superfund site toward the multi-million cleanup of the property. But, Jeff Tittel, director of the NJ Sierra Club, isn't pleased. "We believe that this settlement does not actually clean up the site and lets the polluters off the hook," Tittle said.
