(file photo) by James Fink Buffalo Business First (NY) April 17, 2015Having secured definitive answers on two key issues, Krog Corp. is advancing its plans to turn a former Trico windshield manufacturing plant in Buffalo into a mixed-use development. At issue was whether New York’s brownfield tax credit program would be extended and whether the $54 million project would receive federal historic tax credits from the National Parks Service. Both incentives are needed to make the project financially viable. State lawmakers, during the just concluded budget session, enacted legislation that keeps the brownfield tax credits in place for the next 10 years and, almost at the same time, federal officials signed off on the historic tax credits. Krog officials spent more than 15 months securing the historic tax credits. ...
