Superfund site gives UNCA profs lesson in politics by Tonya Maxwell Asheville Citizen-Times.com May 6, 2015 On a chilly, misty morning last month, a class of 14 UNC Asheville students collected water samples from the contaminated land near a former manufacturing plant, joining more than 200 other young people who over the years have studied these same grounds. For UNCA professors Jeff Wilcox and Sally Wasileski, the work has been done in the name of science education as students in water and chemistry classes learn about groundwater movement and pollution.
