Lower Providence supervisors approve plan for 139 town houses
Plan calls for 139 homes at River and Germantown; soil contamination an issue

LOWER PROVIDENCE - The board of supervisors Thursday approved the written, conditional use for 139 town houses at the intersection of River Road and Germantown Pike.

The written conditional use included stipulations that were proposed by the DEP and accepted by the developer. The developer agreed that “no wells may be drilled on site; all units must be constructed with vapor barriers in order to eliminate any seepage of fumes from the groundwater; the developer will provide full disclosure of the existing environmental condition of the property to future buyers and will record a notice with the deeds for individual property owners; the developer will execute a separate residential disclosure form to be reviewed and approved by the township requiring that each buyer of a unit acknowledges receipt of information adequately describing the existing environmental conditions of the property and any other existing or proposed conditions which would impact a homeowner’s use of the property.”

The developer also agreed to “provide copies of all test results for the existing and any proposed on-site monitoring wells within 20 days after a request by the township,” according to the conditional use.
