Lambert Kay remediated, almost ready for sale By Manon Mirabelli Torrington Register Citizen (CT) October 10, 2015 WINSTED - The former Lambert Kay mill property is nearly ready for redevelopment with a pending environmental impact report as the last piece of the puzzle to promoting the creation of a vibrant mixed-use facility. Town Purchasing Agent Mark Douglas said Thursday a $36,000 state brownfields grant was utilized in the transformation of the building and parcel from an unkept eyesore strewn with debris and unclaimed property to one that is now remediated and ready for sale. “It is now cleaned and ready for sale,” he said. “We just need the environmental impact report from the engineering firm.” That report, Douglas said, is imminent, and upon its arrival the town will begin marketing the facility to developers. He added that the building is in relatively “good shape” and features original wood floors and wood and brick-work. … For the entire article, see http://www.registercitizen.com/general-news/20151010/lambert-kay-remediated-almost-ready-for-sale -- Lenny Siegel Executive Director, Center for Public Environmental Oversight a project of the Pacific Studies Center 278-A Hope Street Mountain View, CA 94041 Voice: 650-961-8918 or 650-969-1545 Fax: 650-961-8918 LSiegel@cpeo.org http://www.cpeo.org _______________________________________________ Brownfields mailing list Brownfields@lists.cpeo.org http://lists.cpeo.org/listinfo.cgi/brownfields-cpeo.org | |
