More support for Albany region's waterfront development of blighted areas by Marie J. French Albany Business Review (NY) December 3, 2015 Two plans to develop waterfronts in the Albany area got an additional boost with a designation that will give projects located in Rotterdam and Cohoes priority status for grants. The sites - 413 acres in Cohoes and 570 acres in Rotterdam - were designated as Brownfield Opportunity Areas by the state, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Thursday. The designation gives developers access to additional tax incentives through the Brownfield program, which focuses on cleaning up former industrial sites.
