City brownfield site cleanup moves ahead By John Mason, Columbia-Greene Media Hudson Register Star (NY) December 10, 2015 2:00 am HUDSON - Calling it "a feather in the cap to everyone who has worked on it," Mayor William H. Hallenbeck Jr. said Friday the bulk of demolition is complete on the 3-acre Foster's Refrigeration brownfield site on Dock Street. It's a project that's been on the table for quite a while. "I'm glad we were able to get that done," he said. "It's been the talk of many years. We had to wait for the money to accomplish that." Still to be accomplished are the sampling and removal of debris at the site. "Once demolition work is complete, sampling will be done to better delineate the extent of removal that is necessary," according to an email from state Department of Environmental Conservation Public Information Officer Lori Severino.
