Habitat plans to build Bithlo homes if site is safe Bithlo to get affordable homes if well-water tests come up clean by Stephen Hudak Orlando Sentinel (FL) February 2, 2026 Habitat for Humanity intends to build as many as 10 homes on the site of a foreclosed trailer park in Bithlo if environmental tests prove the property to be safe from a cancer-causing chemical found in a neighbor's well. The county took possession Dec. 1 of the 4.6 acres – the former Lansing Street Mobile Home Park – to settle a fight over more than $700,000 in code-violation fines that led to the demolition of 18 severely dilapidated trailers at the park.
