Air quality force closure of Millis school through Wednesday By Heather Harris Milford Daily News (MA) February 22. 2016 MILLIS — Students at the Clyde Brown Elementary School got an extended vacation this week when administrators decided to close the school Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday because of concerns about the air quality in the 62-year-old building. Superintendent Nancy Gustafson released a statement Sunday night that said air quality results taken in two areas of the school over February vacation were of concern. Initially school was closed only Monday and Tuesday. A second statement was released Monday evening by school committee Chairman Marc Conroy and Gustafson. “This morning the state agencies, air quality consultant, local public health officials, school administrators and school committee representatives met to discuss next steps. At this meeting we learned that the results of the additional testing scheduled for today and tomorrow will not be available until Wednesday. Thus, unfortunately, we need to cancel school at Clyde Brown for Wednesday as well.” … For the entire article, see http://www.milforddailynews.com/article/20160222/NEWS/160229329/?Start=1 -- Lenny Siegel Executive Director, Center for Public Environmental Oversight a project of the Pacific Studies Center 278-A Hope St., Mountain View, CA 94041 Voice: 650/961-8918 or 650/969-1545 Fax: 650/961-8918 <lsiegel@cpeo.org> http://www.cpeo.org _______________________________________________ Brownfields mailing list Brownfields@lists.cpeo.org http://lists.cpeo.org/listinfo.cgi/brownfields-cpeo.org | |
