Officials report TCE controls effective at Huron campus

While TCE concentrations remain high under the center of the Huron campus in Endicott, cleanup is progressing around the fringes.

In a public meeting scheduled for Monday, state officials will update progress in an area at the eastern end of the campus listed as Operable Unit 5 (OU-5). The parcel, east of Hayes Avenue and north of the Norfolk-Southern rail tracks, encompasses BAE Electronics warehouses and a Gault Toyota dealership.

Although testing and cleanup operations are planned to continue at OU-5, efforts have limited exposure risks in that area, according to records filed with the state Department of Environmental Conservation.
