Two Brownfield Sites In Fort Smith Returned To Use Southwest Times Record (AR) March 23, 2016 Two Fort Smith facilities have been certified by the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality for completing the requirements of the Arkansas Brownfield Program. The Brownfield Program, established in 1995, works to redevelop properties that have been contaminated through commercial, industrial or agricultural use. A property is successfully redeveloped when it can be returned to productive use.
