Land Where Kensington Heights Projects Once Stood About to Hit Auction Block By Kevin Jolly Time Warner Cable (Buffalo, NY) July 1, 2016 BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority is selling the long-dormant Kensington Heights housing development site, which sits on Fillmore Avenue near Route 33. A public housing development was built there in 1958, but was abandoned in 1980. Demolition work started in 2010. All asbestos has been taken care of. The real-estate sign might read: "58-year old apartment shell sitting in middle of a 16.8-acre brownfield. Close to a hospital, school, and major expressway. Recently remediated. Make offer."
