Federal appellate court rules Whittaker can sue federal government By Jim Holt Santa Clarita Valley Signal (CA) July 6, 2016 Officials with Whittaker Corporation who want the federal government to cover their cost of cleaning up close to 1,000 acres of contaminated land these past two decades received a favorable court ruling recently from the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. A panel of appellate court judges listened to arguments made by Whittaker attorney Kevin M. Fong on June 13 as he argued for the company’s right to recover expenses incurred since the cleanup began in the 1980s.
