City eyes Geneva Foundry cleanup By DAVID L. SHAW Finger Lakes Times (NY) July 14, 2016 GENEVA - City Council took what may be a big step toward the cleanup and redevelopment of the Geneva Foundry property on Jackson Street. Council voted 9-0 Wednesday to pre-apply for a spot in the state’s Brownfield Cleanup Program, an initiative that offers cleanup recommendations, a liability waiver to the city and future developers, and tax credits for redevelopment of the site for specified new uses. “I’ve been involved with this site since 1998,” reported At-Large Councilor Gordy Eddington, the city’s former director of public works. “It’s been a challenge.
