Tales of Alhambra [California]: Vapor Intrusion By Lenny Siegel December, 2016 The San Gabriel Valley community of Alhambra, an inland suburb of Los Angeles, is rife with subsurface contamination, solvents such as trichloroethylene (TCE) and tetrachloroethylene (PCE) from post-World War II industrial expansion. City officials are only just beginning to become aware of the threat of vapor intrusion, and regulatory oversight is fragmented.
