The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Green Power Partnership(GPP), in collaboration with EPA's RE-Powering America's LandInitiative, will host a webinar on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, from 1:00 - 2:30 pm (EST), entitled "Project Matching: Shovel-ready Renewable Energy Projects." The webinar will provide a forum for attendees to learn about new, yet-to-be-built renewable energy projects that may align with their organization’s energy, environmental, and financial objectives, as well as how EPA Green Power Partners and other organizations can engage in the development of these projects.

The webinar will feature five to eight short project presentations. Developers will highlight project details, business models, and project engagement opportunities. In many cases, developers are seeking organizations to play an off-taker or equity investment role in the project.

Project developers are invited to submit project proposals to GPP for possible inclusion in the webinar. The 2017 project proposal submittal form can be found on the Project Matching webpage and includes all anticipated criteria that EPA will use to select projects for the webinar. Such criteria include site and project readiness for development and a project’s vision for partners and financing. Submittals that do not include complete information will be automatically disqualified from further consideration. Projects must be for new green power generation as defined by the GPP Program Requirements in sections IX and XIII.

Project proposals are due to EPA no later than March 31, 2017 and must be submitted electronically to Christopher Kent,kent.christopher@epa.gov.

Spring 2017 Project Matching Timetable
  • March 1 - Open of Project Proposal Submittal Period
  • March 31 - Close of Project Proposal Submittal Period
  • April 21 - Proposal Submitters notified if project will be featured on webinar
  • May 3 - Projects selected for webinar submit presentations to EPA
  • May 10 - All project proposals meeting requirements posted to EPA website
  • May 17 - Webinar at 1:00 - 2:30 pm (EST)
EPA will use the information within these project proposals to select projects to showcase on the webinar. EPA and its designated agents will be solely responsible for selecting projects. Selection of a project for the webinar does not constitute endorsement or recommendation by EPA. At the conclusion of the webinar, EPA will provide a mechanism for webinar attendees to indicate their interest in specific projects and share their contact information with respective developer(s).

EPA will notify selected projects for the webinar by April 21, 2017. If selected, developers will be required to prepare a 5 - 7-minute presentation on their project, which will be due to EPA no later than May 3, 2017. The selected presentations will be archived on the GPP website and the webinar recording will be available to stakeholders. All projects submitted for review that meet minimum requirements for data completeness and basic eligibility will be posted on the GPP website by May 10, 2017.

EPA anticipates that more projects will be submitted than there are presentation slots available. In that circumstance, EPA will explore the opportunities for additional webinars of this type in the future. Matching EPA stakeholders to a project does not constitute endorsement or recommendation by EPA to any of the parties involved. All parties are required to do their own due diligence prior to any project engagement.
