Baker San Francisco Chronicle March 26, 2017 Jeb Barrett remembers a couple of years ago when his fiancee noticed that three houses on one side of his Alhambra Street home in San Francisco’s Marina district were vacant. So was a house on the other side. It was weird, he said, to be “walking home and seeing all of these empty units.” Then one day Barrett looked outside and saw a huge conveyor belt.
