Brownfield cleanup slated for St. Clair Inn property Developer must repay state loan to city or face suit By Jim Bloch Clinton Voice (MI) June 18, 2017 The St. Clair City Council recently passed a resolution that approves accepting a loan of $200,000 from the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality for a brownfield cleanup at the St. Clair Inn. … The inn property includes parcels on the west side of North Riverside Avenue and the east side, along the St. Clair River. In April, the city council unanimously passed an emergency resolution that cleared the way for Katofsky to accept the $550,000 from the MDEQ to remove and remediate the contamination resulting from underground fuel tanks on the west side of North Riverside Avenue.
