Former Troy steel site cleanup continues by Brian Nearing Albany Times-Union )NY) January 3, 2018 An Oregon company is continuing a $1 million project to contain pollution at its former Troy steel fabrication plant that has been closed for more than a decade. Esco Corp., of Portland, will be working at its former Steel Treaters property at 520 Campbell Ave., according to a notice Wednesday from the state Department of Environmental Conservation. The company will build a underground containment system to keep underground pollution on the property from further spreading to adjoining properties. The system will also neutralize pollution already present on the Esco property. Already, the company has had about 17 tons of contaminated soil excavated and removed for disposal.
