Officials want more info on Coakley group lobbyist

PORTSMOUTH - State Rep. Mindi Messmer, D-Rye, and former Assistant Mayor Jim Splaine plan to share their concerns aep. Mindi Messmer, D-Rye, and former Assistant Mayor Jim Splaine plan to share their concerns about the Coakley Landfill Group’s decision to hire a lobbyist with the City Council on Tuesday.

City Attorney Robert Sullivan confirmed in December that the CLG hired the lobbyist after a number of bills were filed in Concord, including some by Messmer, “which have a direct bearing on the operations of the Coakley landfill.”

“It’s necessary for the group to keep track of the legislation,” Sullivan said at the time.
