Firm plans West Side project with restaurant and bar By Ehren Wynder Grand Rapids Business Journal (MI) May 31, 2018 A proposed mixed-use development on the city’s West Side is taking a step forward. The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality awarded a $330,000 grant to the City of Grand Rapids Brownfield Redevelopment Authority for the redevelopment project at the former site of the Red Lion restaurant, at 449 and 499 Bridge St. NW, according to the city today. The grant will help pay for "due care activities," demolition and the transportation and disposal of contaminated soils, among other eligible costs.
