$8.1M hazardous waste cleanup ordered at Muskegon manufacturing site By Justine McGuire Muskegon News (MI) August 2, 2018 MUSKEGON TOWNSHIP, MI - Two former owners of a Muskegon manufacturing site have been court ordered to spend a combined $8.1 million on an environmental cleanup effort. Contaminants at the site include arsenic, cyanide, chromium, PCBs, lead, mercury and others, according to court documents. The pollution has affected groundwater on the site and there are concerns about air quality. The 170-acre site at 76 Getty St. in Muskegon Township is owned by military manufacturer L3 Technologies, but the contamination occurred prior to the company's ownership, according to the court order that enforces a consent agreement between the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality, L3 and previous owners.
