Pollution from old industrial site affecting Fantastic Caverns By Jesse Inman Four States Home Page November 9, 2018 SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KOLR10) - A potentially major situation is taking place at Fantastic Caverns as a chemical could be polluting the cave. A hydrogeologist hired by Fantastic Caverns to study the problem tells KOLR10 that a decades old industrial site near the Springfield Regional Airport either dumped or leaked a harmful chemical into the soil.
