Pollution from old industrial site affecting Fantastic Caverns

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KOLR10) - A potentially major situation is taking place at Fantastic Caverns as a chemical could be polluting the cave. 

A hydrogeologist hired by Fantastic Caverns to study the problem tells KOLR10 that a decades old industrial site near the Springfield Regional Airport either dumped or leaked a harmful chemical into the soil.

That site is no longer in operation, but the long-lasting effects of what the site left behind are a big concern today.
