Tests on Duofold site enter second phase Utica Observer-Dispatch (NY) January 30, 2020 Funding from the Environmental Protection Agency will allow the Herkimer County Industrial Development Agency to continue studies at the former Duofold site in the village of Ilion in an effort to ready the parcel for economic development. John Piseck, executive director, said the $200,000 grant has entered its second phase, which includes drilling borings to sample the level of contamination in the ground. “It’s to see if there is a migration of the chemicals off the site and what the chemicals look like today,” said Piseck.
