Brownfield probes planned on two Blue Cardinal sites in Niagara Falls by Thomas J. Prohaska Buffalo News (NY) October 29, 2020 Buffalo's Blue Cardinal Capital, which purchased 38 properties in and around Niagara Falls' Main Street last year, plans to place two vacant lots it bought in the state brownfield cleanup program. The state Department of Environmental Conservation seeks public comments by Nov. 27 on the applications for two parking lots: one at Main Street and Cleveland Avenue, dubbed "Building 42"; and another on Division Avenue near Eighth Street, which the DEC calls "Building 40.” The former hosted several businesses from 1888 to 2002, including a sausage factory, a dyeing plant, a paint shop, a print shop and a dry cleaner.
