Brownfield plan approved for GM Powertrain site By Andy Kozlowski Warren Weekly (MI) February 7, 2022 WARREN — The Warren City Council recently approved a brownfield plan for the GM Warren Transmission Plant property at Mound and Nine Mile roads, paving the way for remediation of the site and its subsequent demolition and reconstruction. It’s all part of a $180 million total investment by NorthPoint Development, to whom General Motors Co. sold the property. The developer plans to turn the 117-acre site at 23500 Mound Road into 1.4 million square feet of industrial space, spanning three new buildings that will be leased out to multiple tenants and will create an estimated 600-plus jobs. As part of the leasing deal, Warren residents will be given a two-week advance notice applying for jobs there.
