Rubber brownfield By Jakob Lazzaro WVPE 88.1 (Elkhart/South Bend, IN) April 18, 2022 A large affordable apartment complex could be coming to the former Western Rubber site in Goshen after the Goshen Common Council approved an economic development revenue bond for the project Monday night. The $31 million Ariel Cycleworks project is being proposed by developer Anderson Partners. The proposal also includes 5,000 square feet of commercial space and a connection to the 9th Street bicycle greenway. And because of the Western Rubber site’s status as a brownfield, it incorporates extensive green infrastructure and stormwater infrastructure to properly manage runoff. … For the entire article, see https://www.wvpe.org/wvpe-news/2022-04-18/large-apartment-complex-may-be-built-in-goshen-on-former-western-rubber-brownfield — Lenny Siegel Executive Director Center for Public Environmental Oversight A project of the Pacific Studies Center LSiegel@cpeo.org P.O.
