Public meeting on former Westinghouse brownfield remediation project planned Wednesday

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cuyahoga County’s Department of Development is holding a public meeting on Wednesday to discuss remediation work at a current brownfield being redeveloped into mixed-use housing.

Experts will be available to discuss the project at 10 a.m. on site at the defunct Westinghouse building at 1200 W. 58th Street, near Breakwater Ave.

The 3.6-acre property was the previous home to Paramount Stamping and Welding but has been vacant since 2019. Other buildings on the property, some dating back to the 1890s, served as a machine shop, a blacksmith shop, carpenter shop, grinding shop and oil house.
