EGLE grant helps revitalize former filling station located in the village of Sebewaing

A Brownfield Redevelopment grant from the Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) will help the Huron County Brownfield Redevelopment Authority and Frankenmuth Credit Union redevelop 561 South Beck Street in the village of Sebewaing.

Brownfield site that will be redeveloped, located at a major intersection along M-25 in the village of Sebewaing.  

The property located at 561 South Beck Street is contaminated with petroleum volatile organic chemicals (PVOCs), and polynuclear aromatics (PNAs) from its former use as a filling station during the 1950s to the 2010s and included four leaking underground storage tanks. The property has remained vacant since the 2010s.
