[I consider myself one of the Bay Area’s most successful advocates for affordable housing development, but I’m supporting the neighbors. PCE in soil gas and indoor air at and near this site exceed established screening levels, putting neighbors and future residents at risk. It would be relatively simple and inexpensive to install a soil vapor extraction system before construction. After unsuccessfully seeking a temporary injunction against the development in San Francisco Superior Court, and losing an appeal of the project’s demolition permit, the Mid-Sunset Neighborhood Association has appealed the construction site permit.
