FACT SHEET New York State Superfund Program August 2023 Saint-Gobain McCaffrey St., Hoosick Falls, New York Preliminary Remedial Actions to Begin at State Superfund Site Construction Actions are beginning in order to provide an alternate water supply for the Village of Hoosick Falls in Rensselaer County. The alternate water supply is necessary based on contamination related to the Saint-Gobain McCaffrey Street site (“site”) located at 14 McCaffrey Street, Hoosick Falls, Rensselaer County, which is being remediated under New York’s State Superfund Program. Please see the map for the site location and the project area. These activities will be performed by Honeywell International and Saint- Gobain Performance Plastics with oversight provided by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) pursuant to a legal agreement with the companies. These preliminary activities are expected to begin in August 2023, and last about two months. … NYSDEC is conducting a remedial investigation for OU-01 and OU-03 to define the full nature and extent of contamination resulting from manufacturing activities at the site.
