$2.5M in Grant Funding to California Community Organizations
to Engage In the Cleanup Process of Contaminated Properties
In Their Communities

Dear Lenny,

The Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) invites non-profit organizations (501c3), Tribal communities, and community organizations under fiscal sponsorship to apply for the Technical Assistance Grant (TAG) program.

The TAG program provides vulnerable communities with an opportunity to actively participate in the oversight of environmental cleanup activities that affect them. The Program will provide grants ranging from $40,000-$150,000 to hire and direct an independent technical advisor who can assist in analyzing, interpreting, and communicating complex environmental information to residents living near an active DTSC cleanup project.

Follow these steps to check your eligibility and get ready to apply!

1. Read the TAG program guidelines, amended on December 18, 2023
2. Watch the December 6th webinar recording, where DTSC and the Center for Creative Land Recycling discuss the program, answer audience questions, and demo the Site Mapping Tool.
3. Schedule an appointment for FREE Application Assistance with CCLR here or reach out to CCLR at tag@cclr.org.
