EPA Targeted Brownfield Assessment Webinar hosted by CCLR
Thursday Feb. 22 11 am PST
Join us for our upcoming webinar on the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Targeted Brownfield Assessments (TBA) program, because To Be Honest (TBH) a TBA can likely benefit your community! This program provides cost-free technical assistance (TA) through EPA contractors to conduct brownfield assessment activities such as Phase I & II’s and Assessment of Brownfield Cleanup Alternatives (ABCA). The TBA program is available locally on a rolling basis and unlike a grant, it does not require a lengthy application process.

Brownfield sites are often underutilized or vacant properties with known or perceived contamination that can adversely impact public and environmental health, hinder redevelopment, impede job growth, and diminish community pride. In this webinar, you will learn from case studies that detail how applicants have benefited from TBAs and served as a catalyst for transforming these sites into assets for the community.

Justfields: Elevate your land reuse initiatives with new environmental justice funding
Thursday March 7 2024
Join this important conversation where we will articulate the intersections between brownfields funding and ECJ funding. Attendees will learn how to effectively leverage ECJ funding to support their communities’ revitalization initiatives and mitigate past environmental injustices. Speakers from EPA’s Office of Brownfields and Land Revitalization (OBLR) and the Office of Environmental Justice and External Civil Rights (OEJECR) will:
  • Outline available and upcoming ECJ funding including the Community Change Grants and Thriving Communities EJ Subgrants;
  • Spotlight eligible activities that are particularly relevant to land reuse;
  • Identify CERCLA 104(k) and 128(a) limitations that can potentially be addressed with ECJ funding;
  • And consider financial layering opportunities that maximize the potential of redevelopment initiatives and support project momentum.
Arizona Brownfields Workshops: Connecting the Dots -- Reuse, Renew, Revitalize
The Center for Creative Land Recycling (CCLR) in collaboration with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), will host three Arizona Brownfield Workshops this April. Similar content will be presented at all workshops. Pick the date and location most convenient to you!

Willcox: April 23, 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. | Golden Rule Vineyards
Phoenix: April 24, 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. | Heard Museum
Flagstaff: April 25, 12:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. | Serendipity

The workshops will bring agencies together with a brownfields program (or those thinking of developing one) to learn about revitalizing and reusing vacant properties. They will connect the dots and provide information on resources, funding, challenges, and strategies for redevelopment, leveraging EPA, other federal, and state resources.
