Howard County Executive James N. Robey has announced a 26-member 
committee to manage the thousands of new defense-related jobs coming to 
the Fort Meade area and the effects on Howard County.

The group, created jointly by Robey and the County Council, is in 
reaction to the federal Base Closure and Realignment Commission (BRAC) 
recommendations, which are expected to bring thousands of 
defense-related jobs to the Fort Meade area adjacent to Howard County.
