The 5,000-member civilian work force includes some of the country's top wireless communications experts and the people responsible for developing the electronic jammers to protect troops in Iraq from roadside bombs. Jon Corzine yesterday took what he said was the first step toward keeping Fort Monmouth's brainpower in New Jersey when the Army closes the 80-year-old installation in 2011 and moves its work to Maryland. ...
