More than 100 attend Fort McPherson session By JOHN BECKER Atlanta Journal-Constitution (GA) March 7, 2007Jack Sprott and the rest of the group focusing on the future of Fort McPherson are pretty sure they know several things that might be in store for the prime 488-acre piece of real estate. Now, they want interested residents to tell them what they think.More than 100 residents showed up at William M. Finch Elementary School in southwest Atlanta on Tuesday night to do that and learn about the McPherson Planning Local Redevelopment Authority, a nonprofit corporation created to plan for the reuse of the facility. The meeting was the first of a series of public sessions designed to seek ideas and opinions on the reuse of the 122-year old military facility that is scheduled to close in 2011. ...
